The sound of a door slamming shut resounded through the night air as Lochana lay in bed, terrified. Thirty minutes later, she heard what sounded like a baby crying. This wasn’t the first time she had heard these strange noises, but they still kept her awake.

There really wasn’t a door slamming or a crying baby, just like there really wasn’t someone over her trying to strangle her. But these demonic attacks kept her up all night. She wondered if she could be free from these attacks.

Though most of the attacks happened during the night, the daytime wasn’t excluded. Somehow Lochana knew people’s secrets and spoke them out loud. Lochana’s husband, Prajit, drank to endure the troubles, and her children also struggled to survive.

To get away from the attacks, the family chose to move to a nearby village.

New Neighbors Recommend Solution

Settling into their rental home, they expected to go back to living their ordinary lives—without the oppression. Instead, it only intensified. At times, Lochana would see visions of her deceased mother. She’d fight it, trying to make the vision go away, but it would always return.

Neighbors suggested she worship and offer flowers to the gods to find relief, but the attacks remained through all her efforts to follow their direction.

Tormented Day and Night

When the demonic attacks continued despite moving to a new village, Lochana’s neighbors told her to worship her gods for relief. But even after following their direction faithfully, nothing changed.

During this time, some believers encouraged her to attend the local church. There she met GFA World pastor Bishr and a woman named Komali who told her about Bridge of Hope.

“Bridge of Hope is one of the best schools that offers good education to the children here,” Komali said. “Moreover, children will have a bright future when they are enrolled in it.”

Up to this point, Lochana and her family could not think of school because of their financial situation.

But by these words from Komali, Lochana’s son, Chahel, and daughter were enrolled in the Bridge of Hope center.

Doctors Failed, Son Speaks Hope

While her children learned about the saving power of Jesus, Lochana visited doctors and witch doctors to try to find deliverance. She and her husband spent much of their earnings, but no relief came.

The Christian believers were still there, encouraging her to seek prayer. Chahel also believed she could be free from these attacks if she received prayer as he learned of what Jesus did during His life.

Seeing her son’s confidence in Jesus, Lochana began attending the local church, seeking prayer for the situation. She regularly went to the prayer meetings, and throughout the following three months, she was fully relieved from the demonic attacks.

We Will Throw You Out’

Lochana and her family returned to the village they had left and grew in understanding of God’s love through the local church. Through this, Lochana and her family fully embraced the freedom found in Christ.

Even though the villagers oppose their decision to follow Christ, they stand firm.

“I will continue to follow Jesus in my life,” Lochana says. “He delivered me from demonic attacks and solved all our problems.”

During Chahel’s time in Bridge of Hope, he read God’s Word and studied well, along with learning to play instruments and soccer.

Now, Chahel has chosen to attend Bible college where he is studying to be a pastor.

When children like Chahel attend Bridge of Hope, more families can hear of God’s care for them. You can help open the door for children to receive the love of Christ they—and their families—are waiting for.
